I helped with the preliminary research including conducting interviews, creating user journey maps for the voting process in different states, and the initial mock-up used for user testing. I also helped with information architecture including user-testing and wireframes, and created the visual design for the service blueprint. I worked on the print campaign for the website by creating stickers and a brochure to be handed out. I also created the presentation PDF we used when presenting our project in class.
Joyce helped with initial contextual research, as well as goals for the project, the service blueprint, and conducting interviews. Joyce helped with the brand concept, and worked on the print campaign by creating the posters, banner, and rally sign. She also created the visuals for the case study we turned in with our project.
Anna helped with preliminary steps including contextual research, conducting interviews, and creating an initial mock-up for user testing. She also created the final brand concept and logo we used for the project. Anna helped with the website wire frames and mock-ups, and did the animation and editing for the video in After Effects.
Oliver worked on different areas of the research and planning phase of the project including creating the survey, coming up with project goals, creating a service blueprint, conducting interviews, and creating user journey maps. He also worked on the information architecture including user-testing, user-flow, and wireframes. Oliver also helped create the website mock-ups and helped to create the story board for the video as well as icons and illustrations.
Because this project was about creating a service and not just a product, we had to approach things a little differently. We created a service design blueprint that looked at how people would be interacting with our product, and the voting process as a whole, to see where we could help people in the digital and physical world. From this research, we decided that a website would reach the most people and that also having a print campaign that could be used at events or on college campuses, would help better spread the word about our product, and make it become a service because consumers would have more of an interaction with the information.
These are mock-ups of pages for the website, including the landing page and the candidate profiles page. For the visual design we wanted things to be big and bold to grab attention, but also very clear and easy to navigate because the voting process is already so complicated.
